Wesley had the privilege of serving as SC Senator Chip Campsen’s General Consultant for the 2020 general election while Push Digital oversaw all media. Senator Campsen has represented South Carolina’s 43rd district since 2004, but he had an incredibly low name ID for two primary reasons. First, the district has grown by leaps and bounds with an incredible population boom, resulting in thousands of new voters. Second, Senator Campsen has not had opposition since the district was redrawn ten years ago. The district is long and skinny, encompassing a full half of South Carolina’s coast, making it difficult to campaign in, especially during COVID-19 lockdowns. In addition, the district has been trending blue, as seen with the election of democratic Congressman Joe Cunningham in 2018. Polls showed President Trump upside in the district.
Push Digital delivered a true converged media campaign focused on broadcast and cable television along with hyper targeted digital and mail. Through polling we discovered that both national and state issues moved voters, but what cut through the clutter of the presidential race, congressional race and the most expensive US Senate race in American history were hyper focused issues important to each local community in the extremely spread out district. We used broadcast and cable television to deliver a big picture message while using digital, mail and newspaper to deliver niches messages to targeted demographics and communities.
